Re-imagining Zimbabwe's Largest Provider.

Econet Wireless is the largest telecommunications company in Zimbabwe, with an overall market share of over 61 percent of the total mobile sector. As part of my #2020 bid and transition to working with and helping African brands stand out, I took on a personal challenge to evolve the Econet brand identity.

This is a concept project.

Why? They are Zimbabwe’s largest operator yet their brand identity lacks intrigue, delight, flexibility and a timeless quality to it.

Its forgettable.

The object was to evolve the brand and help visually present it as the market leader it is. Also giving it flexibility to work better across different mediums [digital and offline], and as a solid baseline for their sub-brands.

I updated the tagline from, “inspired to change your world,” to simply, “change your world.” This cognitively repositions Econet as an “agent” for empowerment and change. Thus shifting the power into the hands of the people, who in turn, use Econet’s products and services, to change their own worlds.

It gives the tagline a much broader [encompassing the diverse portfolio] yet at the same time, personal appeal.
