Evolving Zimbabwe's Big Tech Giant - Econet Wireless

Econet Wireless is the largest telecommunications company in Zimbabwe. With an overall market share of over 61% of the total mobile sector, Econet is the current market leader. As the world speedily evolves into the digital environment and with multi-platform or multi-device cohesion being essential for brand experience, the current Econet brand identity and visual system needs a lift to perform better across multi-channels, create a greater level of recognition and distinction, and further establish its dominance in market.

This is a concept project.

The new mark is a reductive evolution of the current composite word-mark. It borrows from the globe idea from the previous identity, distills it to its essence and provides a new simple icon. The new modern symbol is coupled with a lowercase sans serif font. The outcome is a warmer, approachable and bold identity. It also creates a more youthful appeal whilst being flexible for multiple applications from apps and social media, to billboards, print advertising and swag.

Updating the tagline from, “inspired to change your world,” to simply, “change your world.” shifts the power to the customer – positioning Econet as the “agent” for empowerment and change.

It gives the tagline a much broader [encompassing the diverse portfolio] yet at the same time, personal appeal.
